A Yohen Tenmoku tea bowl is a black-glazed tea bowl fired at the Jian ware during the Song Dynasty in China approximately 800 years ago. It is characterized by its beautiful, radiant mottled patterns and lustrous luster.
Yohen Tenmoku tea bowls, created during the Southern Song Dynasty, are said to be one of only three National Treasures in the world, and Japan owns them all.
Our museum\'s piece may be the fourth, joining them as the next, and is the finest of these, a Gohohensan.
It is possible that this Yohen Tenmoku tea bowl was once owned by Oda Nobunaga.
