High-quality, artistic tableware used by the royal court.

This refers to kilns and ceramics produced for the imperial court and government.
Southern Song dynasty Guan ware are believed to have included the Jiaotanxia official kiln and the Xiuneisi official kiln in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.
Guan were kilns that fired ceramics for the imperial court, and the quality was far superior to that of ceramics used by the common people.
In particular, the thinness of the vessel body is vastly superior to that of folk kilns, demonstrating the high level of pottery-making skill.
