Jizhou ware - China

A production area for Tenmoku tea bowls, rivaling the Jian ware kilns.

This ancient kiln, located in what is now Jian, Jiangxi Province, was a representative production center of Tenmoku tea bowls from the Song Dynasty in China.
It gained fame for its tea bowls, such as Taihi Tenmoku , Konoha Tenmoku, which feature patterns created by applying a double layer of black and yellow glaze.

It was considered a rival to the Jian ware kilns of Fujian Province, another center of Tenmoku tea bowl production.
Reaching its peak from the Southern Song to the Yuan Dynasty, its products were more diverse than those of Jian ware, including Tenmoku, celadon, celadon and white porcelain, and iron-painted ceramics.
