Oribe ware is a type of ceramic pottery that began to be produced in the Mino region during the Momoyama period by the tea master Furuta Oribe.
While primarily fired in Mino kilns, its style spread to other regions as well.
Oribe black, which uses iron glaze, and Ao-Oribe, with its unique patterns and shapes, were beloved by many tea masters.
