Seto Ware - Japan

This region boasts the largest variety of pottery produced among Japan three major pottery-producing areas.

Seto ware is one of Japan three major types of pottery, and is known for being the first glazed pottery produced in Japan during the early Kamakura period.
During the Kamakura and Muromachi periods, high-quality pottery known as Old-Seto was produced, and in the Edo period, a wide range of ceramics, including everyday utensils, were made.
There were also many instances of reproductions of ceramics brought from China, and Tenmoku tea bowls were also produced.
