定窯の白磁はいつの時代でも飽きさせない完成された、上品で繊細な美しさがあります。
胎土は磁器に近く、淡く黄色みがかって白磁で牙白色（象牙色）とも呼ばれていました。
見込みの模様は「印花」という、乾燥する前の素地に型を押し模様をつける技法を用いることで、細かな模様を描くことができています。
中央には花の模様をあしらいその周りに３種類の草と魚の模様が描かれており、表情に富んでいます。
その一方で外側の模様は「刻花」という施文具を用いて彫り、深く、長い流麗な線を描いており、内側の模様との対比が美しいです。
模様の上に透明釉を施した後に焼成をしております。
盤（皿）であるが平らではなく、高台からなだらかにアーチを描いたやや深さのある形状です。
高台は高さがあり、高台内は深く掘られています。
覆焼き（ふせやき）という技法にておこなっており、器面を裏返し口部を下に向けて焼成をしております。
そのため、口部の釉を剥ぎ取っています。
宋代の美が集約した一品で、定窯のその精巧で質の高い白磁器は貢物として宮廷にも納められていました。

The inner pattern is made by pressing stamp before it dries to create a fine pattern.
A flower is drawn in the center, and three kinds of grass and fish patterns are drawn around it, which is rich in expression.
The outer pattern is carved with a tool, and the deep, long, flowing lines contrast beautifully with the inner pattern.
It is baked after applying a transparent glaze on the pattern.
It is a slightly deep plate with a gentle arch drawn from the foot.
The foot is tall and the inside is deeply dug.
The plate is turned inside out and baked with the mouth facing down.
Therefore, the glaze on the mouth is stripped off.
