越州窯（えっしゅうよう）で焼かれた青磁瓶です。
越州窯自体は浙江省を中心に発達した東洋最古の磁窯であり、そこで生産した青磁は越磁と呼ばれていました。
古くは漢時代から六朝時代、唐代、五代と長くにわたって続きます。
この陶磁器は唐代に焼かれたものと考えられます。
高さが26cm程度と大きめの瓶であり、花瓶として使用できる大きさですが、龍の耳がついていることから、瓶をそのものを観賞用として使用していたものです。
龍は格式ある当時の格が高い人々に使われたもので、当龍耳瓶に於いても龍が用いられており、その格式の高さが分かるものであります。
唐代以降の越州窯の青磁はオリーブ色の釉薬が特徴的です。
唐代以降は日本との交易でこの越州窯の陶磁器は「秘色」と呼ばれるほど人気でした。

The dragon decoration was used by the prestigious people of the time.
Since the Tang dynasty, the pottery of this Echishu kiln has been so popular that it is called “secret color” in trade with Japan.
The olive-colored glaze is characteristic.
