汝窯 青磁鬲式炉 – Ru ware Censer

鬲（れき）は元々は調理道具であり、上に甑を乗せて水を沸騰させ、稲などを蒸すために使いました。

新石器時代には土器として、夏・殷・周には青銅器としても作られます。
青銅器になると獣面などの装飾を施して祭祀用として使われるようになります。

唐代以降になると本品のように陶磁器で鬲の形を模した香炉が作られます。
口が大きく、胴はやや平らな印象で中央に２本の弦文が入ります。
大きな袋状の３つの足を備え、首からその足には弦紋と交差するように鋭い凸線が施されます。
汝窯らしく丁寧な作り方で、足には焼成時に熱を逃すような穴をあけております。
その足が曲がらないように底部には支持具で支えた汝窯特有の針目跡が残ります。
汝窯の青磁釉は、雨上がりの水分を含んだような失透性の水色で天青釉と呼ばれます。
失透ぎみな釉薬には細かな貫入が入り、しっとりとした品のある美しさを醸し出します。

日本では形が袴を履いた姿に見えることから袴腰香炉（はかまごしこうろ）と呼ばれます。

When they became bronzeware, they were decorated with animal faces and other ornaments and used for rituals.

From the Tang dynasty onwards, ceramic incense burners imitating the shape of a Li made, like this one.
It has a large mouth and a slightly flattened body with two string patterns in the center.
It has three large, bag-shaped legs, and sharp convex lines are applied from the neck to the legs, intersecting with the string patterns.
It is carefully made, as is typical of Ru kilns, with holes in the legs to allow heat to escape during firing.
The legs are supported by a support at the bottom to prevent them from bending, leaving the distinctive nail marks of Ru ware.
The celadon glaze of Ru kilns is a light blue color like the sky after a rain.
The slightly opaque glaze has fine crazing, giving it a moist and elegant beauty.

In Japan, it is called a hakama-koshi Censer because its shape resembles a person wearing hakama.
