筆架とは筆を立てかける書道具の一つです。
龍の形を模した筆架で、大きな顔を中心に龍の手と尾が広がるような意匠です。
合計6本ある龍の手と尾にに筆を立てかけることができます。
龍面は凛々しく長い髭や眉が特徴的で、全体には鱗が細かく陰刻で付けられます。
全体にかけられた釉薬は透明釉に呉須を混ぜられた瑠璃釉でとても貴重な釉薬です。
鮮やかな藍色からは髭の透けや鱗の立体感を見ることができます。
龍の意匠、贅沢な瑠璃釉を使用していることから皇帝が使用していたものと考えられます。

The dragon’s face is characterized by its long, dignified beard and eyebrows, and the entire piece is covered with finely engraved scales.
The entire piece is glazed with a very precious lapis lazuli glaze, a mixture of transparent glaze and gosu.
The transparency of the beard and the three-dimensionality of the scales can be seen through the vivid indigo color.
The dragon design and the use of luxurious lapis lazuli glaze suggest that it was once used by an emperor.
