高麗白磁鉄絵桃形水滴 – Peach Water Dropper

高麗時代に焼かれた白磁の水滴です。
下膨れで上に向かって細く尖った桃形の形状で、底から桃の形に沿うように肉厚な葉が２枚、陰刻で１枚の葉が装飾されます。
桃の果実の割れ目（縫合線）が設けられ、そこにさりげなく水の注入口と注ぎ口が備えられます。
白い土に全体に掛けられた白い釉薬はややざらざらした灰色がかっており、ところどころ土や釉薬に混ざった成分によりピンク色や緑色の発色をしています。
頂上には鉄釉が自然と振り掛けられ、シンプルな釉色に表情を付けます。
桃は中国の故事であるる「西王母伝説」で「長寿」を意味し、朝鮮半島においても幸福を求める世相の中で皇帝や貴族に欲された形の一つで、形が自由にできる水滴でよく作られました。

These are white porcelain water droplets made during the Goryeo period.
It has a peach-shaped shape with a bulge at the bottom that tapers upwards.
There are two thick leaves that follow the shape of the peach from the bottom, and one leaf is decorated with intaglio.
A water inlet and a spout are discreetly placed in the cracks of the peach fruit.
The white glaze applied to the white clay has a slightly rough gray tint to it, and here and there it takes on a pink or green color due to the ingredients mixed in with the glaze.
Iron glaze is sprinkled naturally on the top, adding expression to the simple glaze color.
Peaches mean “long life'” in the Chinese fairy tale “The Legend of the Mother of the West,” and they were coveted by emperors and aristocrats in the Korean peninsula, where people sought happiness.
It was often made with water droplets that could be shaped freely.
