南宋官窯 青磁魚耳炉 – Guan ware Celadon Censer

南宋の官窯にて焼かれた青磁の香炉。
高めの高台に丸く膨れ上がった胴、首のあたりで少し窪みがあり、口縁部でゆるやかに外に広がります。
胴には対になる位置に２つの魚を模した耳が付くことから「魚耳炉」といい、南宋の中国では人気が高く数多く作られておりました。
魚耳は器の滑らかな形状にあわせるように簡略化されたけいじょうになっています。
全体に厚みがありますが、底部から胴、口縁部にかけて緩やかに薄くなる丁寧な作りです。
厚いためしっかりとした重量がありますが、底部に重心があり、置いた時の安定感がよく、また手馴染みもとても良いです。
素地は黒く、底部は設置面が1mm程度と薄い作りは南宋官窯ならではです。
全体に淡い緑青色の青磁釉が掛けられており、半失透の釉薬は小さな気泡が多く密集しており南宋官窯の青磁釉特有の美しい色合いです。
全面に大きさの不規則な貫入が入りますが、これは作陶時に狙って入れたものではなく、時代共に自然に入っていったものと考えられます。

A celadon censer made in the official kiln of the Southern Song dynasty.
It has a round, swollen body on a high bottom, a slight depression around the neck, and a rim that gently expands outward.
Two fish-like handles are attached to the body, and it was very popular in China during the Southern Song Dynasty, and many were made.
The fish handles has a simplified design to match the smooth shape of the vessel.
Although it is thick overall, it is carefully made to gradually become thinner from the bottom to the body and mouth edge.
It’s thick and has a solid weight, but the bottom has a center of gravity, so it feels stable when placed, and it feels good in your hand.
The base material is black, and the bottom is thin with an exposed portion of about 1mm, which is unique to Southern Song Dynasty Guan ware.
The whole is covered with pale greenish-blue celadon glaze, and the half-devitrified glaze has many small air bubbles, which is a beautiful color peculiar to the celadon glaze of the Southern Song Guan ware.
There are irregularly sized intrusions on the entire surface, but it is thought that this was not intentionally done when the pottery was made, but that it naturally occurred over time.
