御深井焼 桐菊文水指 – Ofuke Ware Jar

尾張徳川家の御庭焼で、名古屋城内の御深井丸（おふけまる）に窯があったことなどからこの名前が付けられたのが由来です。
白土の上に長石に灰を主成分とした釉薬を施し、透明度の高く、ごく淡い黄緑色に発色します。
この釉薬は美濃窯や瀬戸窯で江戸時代初頭に使い始められ灰釉(かいゆう)系で御深井釉と呼ばれていました。

円形の高台は２重で、そこから腰にかけて緩やかに広がり、胴から口にかけて直線的に四角形に変化します。
器体は厚く1.1cm程度あり、口縁部の断面からその様子が窺えます。

肩は４面が平らになり、そこに二種の模様が施されております。

一つは菊紋であり、古く中国から延命長寿の薬とされたもので、長寿を願った模様として利用されていました。
もう一つの模様は「五三桐（ごさんのきり）」であり、豊臣家をはじめ天皇より授かった家紋の一つです。

模様や線紋の溝の高台脇の釉溜まりには、淡い緑のビードロ調を成し、全面に入った菱形貫入と相まって鉱石のように美しい景色です。

This pottery was made in a kiln built by the Owari Tokugawa family in Ofukemaru inside Nagoya Castle.
Feldspar and ash-based glaze is applied to the white clay, resulting in a highly transparent, very pale yellow-green color.
This glaze began to be used in the Mino kiln and Seto kiln in the early Edo period, and was called Ofuke glaze.

The circular bottom is doubled, gently expanding from there to the waist, and changing linearly from the torso to the rim into a square shape.
The body is about 1.1 cm thick, and this can be seen from the cross-section of the mouth edge.

Four sides of the shoulder are flat, and two patterns are applied there.

One is chrysanthemum crest, which was used as a longevity medicine from ancient China, and was used as a pattern to wish for longevity.
Another pattern is the paulownia crest, which is a family crest related to the emperor.

The glaze pools on the sides of the grooves of the patterns and stripes have a pale green visor tone, and together with the diamond-shaped crackle-glazed on the entire surface, the scenery is as beautiful as ore.
