古伊賀壺 – Old Iga ware Jar

肩が少し張った素直な形の胴に、そろばんのように斜めに作られた口を持ちます。
釉薬を掛けずに焼き締められ、肩には黄色い胡麻が降りかかります。
窯内の空気量や温度の斑により、黒色や灰色の焦げ、そして赤い土がそのまま残り色の変化により模様を作ります。
小石を多く含み、よく乾いた荒い土を使用しており、ところどころに石ハゼがございます。
底にはヘラにより窯印と思われる2本の跡がつけられます。

The body has a simple shape with slightly broad shoulders, and a mouth that is slanted like an abacus.
It was fired without glazing, and a yellow natural glaze is applied to the shoulders.
Due to variations in the amount of air and temperature in the kiln, the black, grey and red clay remains, creating patterns with changes in colour.
The clay used is rough and well-dried, containing many pebbles, and there are traces here and there of stones flying around.
There are two marks on the bottom that are thought to be kiln marks made with a spatula.
