定窯白磁僧型水注 – Water Pitcher with Monk

定窯（ていよう）で制作された白磁水注です。
定窯は唐時代から宋時代に隆盛した名窯で、主に白磁を生産していました。
北宋になってからはやや黄みがかかったクリーム色の上品な釉薬を使用するようになります。
皿や鉢、注水や人形を作っており、陶磁器にスタンプ文様やヘラで模様を描くのが特徴です。
この注水もその技術を用いて作られた、人の形をした水柱で、僧に見立てていることから僧型水注と言います。
本体頭部には穴が空いており、中が空洞で水が入るようになっております。
僧の服にやスタンプ文様やヘラで模様が細工されています。
咥えている笛の厚みはとても薄くできています。
僧服の模様は黒釉で色づけされており、クリーム色の釉薬とのコントラストが気品に満ちた品です。

It is a white porcelain water Pitcher of Ding ware.
Ding ware was a famous kiln that flourished from the Tang dynasty to the Song dynasty, and mainly produced white porcelain.
After becoming the Northern Song Dynasty, I started to use cream-colored elegant glazes.
Ding ware is characterized by drawing a pattern on ceramics with a stamp or spatula.
This pottery is in the shape of a monk.
Patterns are drawn on the clothes with stamps and spatulas.
There is a hole in the head of the main body, and the inside is hollow so that water can enter.
The thickness of the whistle is very thin.
The pattern of the monk’s clothes is colored with black glaze, and the contrast with the cream-colored glaze is full of elegance.
