桃山時代頃に美濃窯で焼造したと考えられる白天目です。
腰あたりに小さく段差が一段、胴のあたりに大きく一段の段差がある形状となっております。
胴から口縁部にかけては内側にすぼまっており、お茶を点てる際の茶はねを防ぐような機能となっていたのではと考えられます。
高台はしっかりと作られており、削り込みもされています。
鉄釉系の天目はよくみますが、白天目はほとんど見かけない珍しい品です。
やや灰色がかった白釉がとても美しいです。

It is “Shiro tenmoku tea bowl” which is thought to have been baked in the Mino kiln around the Momoyama period.
There is a small step and a large step on the torso.
It is squeezed inward toward the edge of the mouth, and it is thought that it had a function to prevent tea splashing when making tea.
The hill is clear and the inside is carved.
I often see iron glaze-based Tenmoku, but white Tenmoku is rare because it is rarely available.
The slightly grayish white glaze is very beautiful.
