桃山時代（17世紀前半）に岐阜県にある美濃窯で焼かれた織部焼の一種で「織部黒（おりべくろ・おりべぐろ）」と呼ばれています。
織部焼といえば緑釉を用いた青織部や絵付をしたものが有名ですが、このように少数ですが黒一色の鉄釉の釉薬が施されたものもございます。
大ぶりで力強い沓形（くつがた）と呼ばれる特徴的な形で、これはろくろで成形したのちに楕円形に歪めております。
口縁部は波うつように高低がついています。
底部は荒々しい削り出しにより輪高台が作られています。
高台周辺を掛け残し、器胎が見えるように鉄釉を施しています。
漆黒のように黒いのは、鉄釉を施した茶碗を焼成中に窯外に引き出し、急冷することによります。
それにより釉面に微細なひびが生じ艶消しの軟調の黒色になります。
このような技法を「引き出し黒（ひきだしくろ）」といい、織部黒や瀬戸黒茶碗にて使われています。

It is a type of Oribe ware that was baked in the Mino kiln in Gifu prefecture during the Momoyama period in Japan. It is called “Oribe Black”.
It is characteristic that it is molded with a potter’s wheel and then made into a distorted oval shape.
The rim is high and low like a wave.
The bottom is roughly carved out of the foot.
The area around the hill is left behind, and iron glaze is applied so that the fetus can be seen.
The blackness like jet black is due to the iron-glazed bowl being pulled out of the kiln during firing and rapidly cooled.
This causes fine cracks on the glaze surface, resulting in a matte, soft black color.
