油滴天目茶碗 – Tenmoku Oil Spot

建窯で焼かれた茶碗で日本に伝わり、天目茶碗と呼ばれるようになりました。
天目茶碗の基本的な形で、底が細く輪高台から緩やかに広がり、口縁下でスッポン形のようにくびれがつきます。
このくびれは茶の保温のためとも、点茶の際に茶が跳ねないようにするためとも言われます。
全体に鉄釉である天目釉がかけられ茶褐色に発色し、焼成時の窯変現象により器面に模様が浮かび上がります。
禾目天目と油滴天目の中間ともとれる模様ですが、油滴天目の特徴である模様が銀色に発色する特徴を持っており、水に浮かぶ油のようです。
胎土は建窯の黒くねっとりとしたもので、高台は輪高台で施釉線は高台より上方に露胎しているが、釉垂れはほとんどありません。
口縁に銀の覆輪が付けられており、これは口縁の修復を目的とする他、天目茶碗の場合は口当たりを良くする目的であったともされています。

Tea bowls made from Jian kiln were introduced to Japan and came to be called Tenmoku tea bowls.
The basic shape of a tenmoku tea bowl, the bottom is thin and widens gently from the bottom, with a constriction below the rim.
This constriction is said to keep the tea warm and to prevent the tea from splashing when brewing.
Tenmoku glaze, which is an iron glaze, is applied to the entire bowl, giving it a dark brown color, and the pattern emerges on the surface of the vessel due to the kiln change phenomenon during firing.
It is a pattern that can be taken between fur glaze and Oil-Spot.
The pattern, which is characteristic of Oil-Spot, has a characteristic silver color that looks like oil floating on water.
The soil is black and sticky, which is unique to the Jian ware.
The bottom is ring-shaped and is glazed slightly above the bottom, exposing the soil.
A silver is attached to the rim, which is said to have been used to restore the rim of the bowl and, in the case of tenmoku tea bowls, to improve the mouthfeel.
